This is the cross at the front of our sanctuary here at Westmount church London. (see pic in comments) It’s 20′ high and contains striking colours of stained glass. Aside from being beautiful, it’s quite unique: Roman Catholic churches have the crucified Jesus on the cross. Protestant churches have an empty cross to convey that Jesus is risen.
On our cross, as you can see, Jesus is on the cross but very much alive. His hands invite all people to join him on his mission to create heaven on earth.
This very mission is the theme of Lent. How do we create heaven on earth? What must we sacrifice to do that?
Join us at this link as we discover the answer together. All are welcome. Now and always.
