1st Sunday of Advent
Advent is a sacred time in our Church year marked by a spirit of expectation, preparation, and of longing. This is a season of hope and possibility, where we are reminded that God enters our lives again and again in new ways.
Join us this Sunday as we start a new year in the church and embark on a journey through the season of Advent. We check lists, deck halls and sometimes dash through snow to make Christmas happen. What if long lists, crowded stores and hectic plans did not define Christmas? Rethink this time of year by focusing on the true meaning of Christmas. We explore how we can check our lives with peace, deck our halls with love and dash to others with messages of joy and hope. This Sunday, December 2 in worship we begin our journey with “Checking to find peace.”
Scripture: Psalm 80: 1-7, 17-19
Theme: When did Christmas get so complicated? We are so busy making lists and checking them twice, decking the halls, and dashing through the snow. What if we begin to check our lists in different ways to restore peace in our lives over the advent season.
