Join us this 1st Sunday of Lent, March 10th at 10:30am, at WPC as we explore together what the true meaning of this sacred season of journeying home is all about.
What is the season of Lent?
The 40 days of lent are a time of longing, longing for poetry to overwhelm the world, longing for justice to roll down like a mighty stream, for the last pages of death to be turned over once and for all. The 40 days are also a time of making, making our hearts ready for God’s poetry of resurrection, our eyes for amazement, our souls ready for the joy that is to come. Join us as we journey together for the 40 days of lent, walking with God who gives us hearts to long for the songs of spring, and hands to help make all things new on Easter morning.
Lent is a time when we give up excess in our lives and we take up a journey and follow Jesus to the cross. During this journey through the dessert, we seek to create a clean heart.Lent is a season of preparing to return to God, it is a time for us to journey, to turn our lives around, so that we can be close to God. As a congregation we will hold each other accountable through this wilderness journey as we keep Lent together.
