Bible Text: Hebrews 11:1- 3 & 39-40 | Preacher: Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Crawford | Series: Jesus is Greater than… | Now we turn our attention from the greater sign (>) to the therefore sign (.:). The first response called for in Hebrews is to have faith.

 

Faith is defined in chapter 11:1 as “being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”  That assurance and surety is described in chapter 10:23-25:

 

“Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful. And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

 

So drawing near to God in assurance of faith, holding unswervingly to the hope we profess, and spurring one another on toward love and good deeds.
