Think of a time in your life when you experienced magnificence. Can you easily put it into words? The birth of a baby? Your first kiss? A forest floor covered with white trilliums after a long and bitter winter?

The apostle Paul, one of the primary writers of the New Testament, struggled with this. He tried to put magnificence into words, and in the end he came up with this:
“O the depth of the riches of God. No one has any idea of the goodness of God. Who can understand it? For from him are all great and beautiful things. To God be the glory, forever and ever!”
There’s magnificence to be had. And it’s within our reach. The whole point of Jesus is to show us how.
