It’s Father’s Day!
The dapper man in the middle is my Dad in 1962. He was a church minister and served a time as a chaplain in the Canadian Armed Forces. He was a good guy but not perfect. He fell asleep easily. Like in the middle of someone else’s sermon. Or driving a station wagon full of kids.
Jesus compared God to a father. Why do you suppose? Well, when I think of my Dad, the thing that rises to the top is that I trusted him. He wasn’t perfect, but I knew that he would do anything to make my life better.
Wouldn’t it be great to think of God in that way? A father you can trust with anything. Jesus did. And he prayed that we would too.
