What’s the oldest question of humankind?
No, not “where’s my other sock”? But great guess.
It’s “Why does God allow suffering”? If God loves us as children, oftentimes it seems God has a funny way of showing it.
Here’s the thing. Jesus willingly walked into suffering. And he calls his disciples to do the same. It’s a big part of Lent. To love is to willingly take on the suffering of others.
Why would anybody do that?
